Its been about a month since you've last heard about the CDR label that I started up. So I figured you'd be due for some more info!

2 things:

-Asaurus is now distributing OIC releases on its website.

-I have a special offer that is available till the end of march. The triple tri-split project is available for EIGHT DOLLARS (thats with shipping). That is 3CDs, 9 Bands, over 3 hours of music.

who are these bands?

Pilgrims (Portland)
The Encyclopedias (IL)
Bluey (Chicago)
Thank You Mr. Keating (Danbury, CT)
I am "the world" (Miami)
Czinese Czechers (Chicago)
Sc.mre (Tampa)
Akward, Bones (California)
The Gay Babys (San Fran)

Haven't checked out Ought Implies Can Records yet? Why not now?

Thanks for your time.

You're great

-Dave

Blank Tapes N' Records now has a fully functioning website, complete with paypal!

A few of us on the label are big fans of The Robot Ate Me, so hopefully some of our stuff will appeal to fans of Ryland Bouchard's work, as well.
The fauna 3"ep by fire island, AK even has a cover of "bad feelings" on it!! Wow!

Tell all your friends!

ps. apologies if you end up seeing this a couple more times.

I started a DIY label! Ought Implies Can Records is the name and it is up an running. Available today is the first offical release of the label; Woodsy Bear Odium. A triple split CDR featuring Pilgrims (Portland, OR), The Encyclopedias (Lansing, IL), Bluey (Chicago, IL).

You can listen to those 3 bands and 6 others too! There will be another triple split released next week and one after that. How fun, how exciting!

So if you could check it out and maybe tell your friends, that would be cool.

ps. sorry if you have seen this already

i saw ryland's fun, beautiful show at the lamplighter pub in vancouver, canada, in august.
he was alone on stage. usually hunched way over, kneeling on the floor, fiddling with nobs, singing into a microphone in his hand. WHAT WAS HE DOING? i kept trying to get a close look at the stuff he had on stage but none of it made sense to me. could anyone who knows please tell me how he was controlling all of his sounds? how were samples coming in and out - what equipment was he using - and how on earth was he playing an accordion that was flat on the floor with wires hooked up to it? it was all so mysterious.

hello everyone!
i'm sorry that i haven't posted in a while but i've got big news.
i just got back from a wonderful road trip with ryland and he informed me that there is going to be a tour in canada with "run chico run" and then a tour of the northern united states with "doveman."
also, he plans on doing a new album that most likely will be released next spring.
thank you,
jason.

hello, everyone. [20 Jun 2005|10:56pm]

i saw the robot ate me saturday night and would like to share my experience.

i was able to talk to ryland before he played and was very nice. and quiet. his set was amazing. he played the following: bad feelings, just one girl, apricot tea, tonight, the red haired girl, our bones were chalk, we ate eachother, crispy christian tea time, and this love is waiting. i requested four songs, and he played every one. i think he also played one or two more from carousel waltz, but i can't remember which. when he played tonightt and crispy christian tea time, he got off stage and sang around us as we danced (he asked us to). the lights were a nice touch, too. there couldn't have been more than 20 people in the room, so the music was even more intimate than it usually is. ryland spent the night at my friend's house because he had nowhere to stay, so we had the chance to hang out with him sunday. it was wonderful. i regret not asking him more questions about his music, but i was too nervous to. oh well.

i took some pictures, too.Collapse )

this is my first time posting in the community. i hope i did alright.

Hello!

My name is Alina and I'm rather pleasant and very kind and try to be a good person. Here's the story: I am interning at KRS over the summer, and need a place to live in Olympia from the last week of June to the last week of August. I'll be there four days a week. Does anybody have some space for me? I'm pretty small.

If you could help me out, shoot me an email at travisdismembersme AT gmail DOT com

Sorry if this is spam.

I have 5 copies of a poster for On Vacation. It's really pretty, but these are five extra copies. I'm selling them for 3 dollars a pop. $2 for shipping and handling as well. If you want one, email me at travisdismembersme AT gmail DOT com

The first two people who respond get a free CD of TRAM rare b-sides.

I just wanted to make sure that the Robot Ate Me will be playing on the 12th in San Diego. It said so on the website but you can always rely on a typo to send a girl into tears.
thanx

oK, I'm in a bit of a panic.. I know I shouldn't be but I am.
I've been mailing ryland about getting two cds because I can't order it by paypal. Instead I have to use a money order. So I'm getting two cds: Bedroom heroes and The Robot ate me - On Vacation. The total cost would be 30$ (including shipping) so I'm guessing that's american dollars? Any ideas on how much that would be in canadian?

sorry sorry about this lame post, but as I said.. I'm paniking...:[

Could someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me and mp3 of the Republican Army and Crispy Christian Tea Time? I was listening to my local university radio station, and they played The Robot Ate Me (first time I've ever heard them). When I heard it, I instantly fell in love. I'm just not sure which song it was. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

My e-mail is shadowboxer524@cox-internet.com, but www.yousendit.com is always good if the file is too big to e-mail. Thanks again.

I just found this community and I don't even know if it's alive anymore.. Anyways I'm just going to post a picture of The Winks when they came to Victoria, BC @ second story. This was quite a while ago. I have a short clip of them doing a cover of the Hey ya song by Outkast but I don't know how to host it.

picture is quite big, bewareCollapse )
